Tangerine Creamsicle Avocado Smoothie
Creamsicle Avocado Smoothie recipe and content provided by Brent Totty
You’d never guess this rich and creamy avocado smoothie has cauliflower in it. Protein-packed and high in good-for-you fats — thanks to avocado and coconut milk — this recipe delivers on all fronts for people who work out regularly.
When you exercise at high intensity for an extended period of time, your body burns both glucose, from the carbs in your diet, and glycogen, carbs that get stored in your liver and muscles.
If you want to dive deeper into ketosis, opt for low-carb smoothie recipes, which will keep your glycogen stores empty and your body producing ketones naturally. If you are doing a carbohydrate refeed, this tangerine creamsicle avocado smoothie is perfect for replenishing your glycogen stores and providing your muscles and ligaments with the amino acids they need to properly recover before your next active session.
