Thanks for asking! Unlike the majority of companies who choose a starch like GMO corn-derived maltodextrin or a milk-based medium (which are at risk of mold and allergen contamination during processing and can contain enough digestible starch or sugar to keep you from entering ketosis), we use non-GMO, highly-branched cyclic maltodextrin in our flavored Collagen Proteins.

Highly-branched cyclic dextrin is superior because it’s free of milk allergens, its high molecular weight lets it pass through your stomach very quickly, and its branched structure keeps it from causing a glucose spike. That means you can stay in ketosis despite highly-branched cyclic dextrin’s carb content.

Coffee

Bulletproof Coffee is a functional beverage made by blending high-quality coffee with grass-fed ghee (or grass-fed butter) and medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil.

The delicious combination of these ingredients provides sustained energy without the typical crashes associated with consuming sugary or high-carbohydrate beverages. The healthy fats help provide a feeling of fullness and support mental clarity.

Learn more about the Bulletproof Coffee Recipe.

People put butter in their coffee to make Bulletproof Coffee. Blending high-quality fats, such as grass-fed butter, helps provide a feeling of fullness and sustained energy.

Our Bulletproof Coffee Recipe recommends using Grass-Fed Ghee in the place of butter along with Brain Octane C8 MCT Oil for the best keto coffee.

The classic Bulletproof Coffee Recipe calls for:

  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/3-2 tbsp MCT oil
  • 1-2 tsp grass-fed ghee or grass-fed butter

Check out the Bulletproof Coffee Recipe for tips on how to make the perfect cup and how to adjust the recipe so it is personalized for your wellness goals.

The caffeine levels in coffee can vary based on factors such as the coffee roast, the brewing method and the serving size. On average, an 8-ounce cup of brewed coffee contains approximately 80 to 100 milligrams of caffeine.

One of our enhanced coffee, The High Achiever, contains 175 milligrams of caffeine per serving or approximately double the amount found in a regular cup of coffee.

It's important to remember that individual sensitivities to caffeine can vary.

Cold brew coffee is easy to make with some time and the right tools. Follow our simple recipe for how to make cold brew coffee.

You can make coffee in many ways, such as pour-over, French press or using an espresso machine. Here's a basic method for making coffee using a drip coffee maker at home:

Ingredients:

Equipment:

  • Coffee machine
  • Coffee filter
  • Coffee scoop

Steps:

  • Prepare the Coffee Machine: Make sure your coffee machine is clean. Fill the reservoir with cold, filtered water.
  • Measure Coffee: Use a coffee scoop to measure your coffee grounds. Use 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds for every 6 ounces of water. Adjust this based on your taste and caffeine preferences.
  • Add Coffee Grounds: Place a coffee filter in the filter basket of your coffee machine. Add the measured coffee grounds to the filter.
  • Start Brewing: Start the coffee machine according to its instructions.
  • Wait and Enjoy: Once the machine has brewed all the coffee, pour it into your favorite mug and add any desired coffee creamers. You can also use this freshly-brewed coffee to make Bulletproof Coffee Recipe.
  • Clean Up: Remember to turn off the coffee maker and clean the filter basket and coffee pot.

Experiment with different coffee beans, grind sizes, ratios and mix-ins to find the coffee that you enjoy the most.

There are several reasons that coffee can make you poop. The caffeine in coffee can cause the muscles in the intestines to contract, promoting bowel movements. The acids in coffee, caffeinated or decaffeinated, can stimulate the muscles of the stomach which can signal to the intestinal tract to move previously eaten foods along. This, combined with the acids' abilities to stimulate bile secretion, allows for an even better movement through the digestive tract. Some people may experience a stronger laxative effect from coffee than others. If regular coffee consumption is leading to digestive discomfort, consider adjusting your coffee consuption or speaking with your healthcare provider.

There are several simple ways to make coffee without a coffee maker such as a pour-over, french press or cold brew coffee.

If you want as little equipment in your kitchen as possible or you are somewhere without access to a coffee maker such as camping in the woods, you can use the following boiling method:

  • Boil water in a pot.
  • Add approximately 2 tbs of ground coffee for ever 6 ounces of water.
  • Boil together for two minutes then remove from the heat.
  • Gently tap the side of the pot to encourage the coffee grounds to settle to the bottom.
  • Pour the coffee slowly to avoid disturbing the grounds that have settled at the bottom.

We recommend using approximately two tablespoons of ground coffee for every six ounces of water.

There are several methods widely used to decaffinate coffee but only one that we consider Bulletproof: The Swiss Water Process. Other methods of decaffination involve chemical solvents. These processes are commonly used by commercial coffee chains and brands to save time and money.

The Swiss Water Process removes caffeine while preserving the taste and aroma of your coffee. It's considered a more natural process compared to other widely-used methods because it's chemical-free.

In the Swiss Water Proccess, green coffee beans are soaked in hot water to extract the caffeine and flavor. This is then passed through an activated charcoal filter to capture the caffeine, while allowing the flavor to pass through. This flavor-charged water then resoaks the green coffee beans which are then dried and roasted to further bring out the flavor.

Grinding whole bean coffee at home is a great way to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee customized to your preference. The grind size directly impacts the extraction process. If the grounds are too fine, the coffee might turn out bitter. Or, if they're too coarse, the brew could be weak. Experiment with different grind sizes to find the perfect one for your preferred brewing method. Lean more about how to grind coffee beans.

There are 230 calories in a cup of Bulletproof Coffee Recipe. The calories in Bulletproof Coffee come from the addition of quality fats from grass-fed ghee and MCT oil.

Black coffee is very low in calories. An 8-ounce cup of black coffee typically contains around 2 calories. But, if you add any additional ingredients to your coffee, such as milk, cream, sugar, syrups or flavorings, the calorie count will increase.

Caffeine found in coffee is a natural stimulant that can increase alertness and temporarily ward off drowsiness. But, some may experience a caffeine crash, where they feel tired after the initial boost of energy from coffee. There are a few reasons why this might happen. Because the body can adjust to caffeine intake, then more caffeine you drink, the more you will need to get the alertness you want. So drinking more coffee is not the answer. Additionally, if you consume coffee late in the day, it may interfere with getting a good night's sleep. Your diet, stress levels and overall health can impact how sensitive you are to caffeine.

If drinking coffee is making you feel tired, consider adjusting your intake and consult with your healthcare provider for more guidance.

Decaf coffee is not completely caffeine-free, but it does have much less caffeine than regular coffee. On average, an 8-ounce cup of decaf coffee contains about 2 to 5 milligrams of caffeine.

For comparison, a regular 8-ounce cup of brewed coffee typically contains around 80 to 100 milligrams of caffeine. Keep in mind that caffeine levels can vary based on factors such as the coffee bean type, brewing method and serving size.

Great question - brewed, plain coffee contains no significant amount of the macro-nutrients, fats, carbohydrates and proteins and therefore doesn't require a nutrition facts panel on the package. Adding Ghee, Brain Octane Oil or Collagen Protein will affect the final nutritional value of the drink and may increase the calorie content.

Our coffee will stay fresh in the sealed bag up to a year and 3-4 weeks once opened. For optimal freshness we recommend freezing any amount you won't use in that time.

For long term sealed storage with minimal degradation, freezing works. Just don’t open it until it returns to room temp to prevent condensation.

In the coffee world, acidity is a desirable attribute associated with a high altitude coffee that is fresh, dry, bright, compared with low-grown duller tasting coffees. The acidity we’re referring to is more akin to the flavors and mouth feel we associate with citrus, like orange or lime juice.

We do not test our coffee for pH but for flavor and quality. In general, the darker the roast the lower the acidity (technically on the pH scale). Coffees that are sold as having low acidity are generally lower altitude lower quality and a much darker roast.

Our coffee is tested for toxins as a part of the Bulletproof process for growing, harvesting and roasting so you get all the benefits of coffee without the negative health effects. We reject any green coffee that tests out of the specification of our proprietary toxin panel.

The beans are roasted in small batches in United States under the strictest conditions. Roasting the beans enhances their antioxidant capacity and flavor to provide you with a healthier, tastier cup of coffee.

If you don't drink coffee but want to experience the benefits of quality fats, we have a recipe for you:

No-Coffee Vanilla Latte:

  • 2 cups hot water
  • Up to 2 tablespoons grass-fed unsalted butter (use your hunger as a guide)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons XCT oil or Brain Octane Oil (use your hunger as a guide)
  • Stevia or hardwood xylitol to tast
  • (optional) pinch of Himalayan salt

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until you have a creamy drink with a nice layer of foam on top. As with Bulletproof Coffee, an immersion blender works fine if you don’t have a high-powered blender handy.

Another option is to substitute an organic tea for the coffee in our Bulletproof Coffee recipe.

You might have heard that light roast and dark roast beans have different levels of caffeine. This isn’t quite true.

The size of a coffee bean changes the longer it’s roasted. Light roast beans are smaller and denser than dark roast beans. If you measure your light roast coffee with a scoop or tablespoon, you might end up with more coffee per scoop—and therefore (slightly) more caffeine. If you want to keep your caffeine consistent across different roasts, measure your beans by weight instead of volume.

Store your beans in an opaque, airtight container at room temperature.

Absolutely. If you want to use Bulletproof coffee beans to make espresso, we recommend our medium-dark roast, The Mentalist—but it’s up to personal preference.

We recommend using a method that preserves the coffee’s natural oils. These contribute to the flavor and antioxidant profile of your brew. Try a French press with glass and steel components.

Ground coffee can lose its freshness faster than whole bean coffee because there’s more surface area exposed to air after grinding. Store your ground coffee in an airtight container to get the most flavor out of your brew.

For the freshest and most flavorful cup of coffee, buy your beans whole and grind them right before you brew them. This step maintains the fragrance and complexities of the coffee bean flavor.

Our Keto Coffee Pods contain approximately 1.5X the amount of caffeine than a normal cup of coffee while The High Achiever contains approximately 2X the amount of caffeine found in a normal cup of coffee.

Additionally, the way you prepare any of our coffees can influence caffeine levels. In general, you’ll get more caffeine out of an espresso shot than a cup of coffee from a drip machine.

If you want the strongest coffee flavor, try darker roasts. These coffee beans have more robust flavor profiles that naturally develop from their longer roasting process. French Kick is a smooth and sweet dark roast with smoky chocolate notes. The Mentalist is a medium-dark roast with dark cocoa and vanilla aromatics, cherry sweetness and notes of almond and caramel. Try them in whole bean, ground or single-serve pods.

Yes. All Bulletproof coffee beans take well to butter but stand just as well on their own. Check out this blog post for other coffee add-ins to enhance your morning brew.

We recommend using our coffee beans because we carefully control and test our coffee beans for mold toxins. This reduces your exposure to the mold toxins that can be found in lower-quality, mass-market coffee beans. We cannot guarantee that other brands uphold to the same quality levels of Bulletproof coffee.

We’re proud of our attention to detail. But there’s no guarantee that other companies have the same standards that we do. The official Bulletproof Coffee recipe uses Bulletproof coffee beans because they’re clean and tested for toxins. That means peace of mind, plus delicious and flavorful coffee beans you can feel good about drinking every day.

It depends on how much you use. However, if you were to use the standard 2 ½ heaping tablespoons of coffee per cup, a 12-ounce bag would make roughly 18 cups of coffee.

For maximum flavor, use an opened bag of coffee within 3 to 4 weeks. Bulletproof coffee beans are best enjoyed within two weeks of receipt. To preserve freshness for as long as possible, store your coffee beans in an opaque, airtight container at room temperature.

Bulletproof Coffee is not vacuum sealed. We package it in multi-layer foil bags that contain a one-way valve that allows the freshly roasted coffee to de-gas while minimizing oxidative degradation. Our coffee is bagged directly after it is roasted to maximize its freshness. This is not a standard practice for commercially available coffee and will cause inflation on occasion, but this does not affect the quality of the coffee whatsoever.

Collagen

Collagen is a protein that plays a crucial role in the structure, strength and elasticity of various tissues in the body. Collagen provides structural support to our skin, bones, tendons and ligaments, helping them maintain their shape and function.

Collagen production naturally decreases as we age. This is why collagen supplements have gained popularity as a way to support overall well-being.

Bulletproof collagen protein products are made of predominantly Type I and a small amount of Type III bovine collagen that comes from pasture-raised cows without added hormones. Our collagen is enzymatically processed several times, to leave its nutrition-giving peptides intact. That makes it highly bioavailable for maximum impact.

Our collagen protein is sourced from pasture raised cattle from South America. During months where grass is scarce they are fed natural feed and are never fed GMO products.

All our products adhere to rigorous quality standards enforced by third-party testing. Explore our Testing Standards page to delve into our ingredient sourcing process and quality assurance measures.

Formulation (what an edible product is made of), sourcing (where do we get each ingredient), and logistics (how reliably can we get them) are complicated challenges to solve. Obviously we strive for the best tasting AND the most "Bulletproof" ingredients. If the presence of this ingredient bothers you, consider that in any processed food there will be ingredients that are there as processing aids—to help the functional ingredients stick together in bar form, etc.

If you would rather avoid any functional ingredients, Unflavored Collagen Peptides are a pure protein powder you can add to lots of other foods.

Collagen is loaded with amino acids, including glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Your body uses those amino acids to make more collagen. Collagen is a way to fill in the gaps and make sure your body is getting high enough doses of the amino acids it needs to build more collagen.

Unlike collagen, whey protein is derived from milk. Additionally, whey is different because it also contains tryptophan. We add tryptophan to our Collagen Protein Plus Support products for a complete protein powder.

Some people combine whey and collagen—that way, you get all the amino acids your body needs, plus an extra kick of joint and bone support from collagen. Learn how to choose the best collagen powder for your body.

Bulletproof Collagen Peptides is primarily type I and a small amount of type III bovine collagen.

There are at least 28 different types of collagen, but types I, II and III form 80-90% of the collagen in your body. Type I and III provide structure to your skin, muscles and ligaments.1

Bulletproof Collagen Peptides is made up of collagen peptides that have been hydrolyzed, or broken down into an easy-to-digest powder. Thanks to hydrolysis, Collagen Peptides easily dissolves in hot and cold liquids and it won’t form a gel when cooled.

Collagelatin is a blend of collagen and gelatin. It forms a jiggly gel when it’s dissolved in hot liquid and cooled. The benefit of Collagelatin is that you get the gelling power of gelatin with added protein from collagen. Use it to make protein-packed gummy treats, or as a versatile thickener in soups and sauces.

We recommend 1-2 scoops. One serving (2 scoops) of Bulletproof Collagen Peptides contains at least 20 grams of pure hydrolyzed collagen. You can take it any time of day—try one scoop in your morning coffee and one scoop before you head to bed.

Yes, a well-balanced diet rich in collagen and the amino acid cysteine may promote healthy and thicker hair growth. You can also get cysteine from high-protein foods like meat, eggs and broccoli.

Studies show that collagen may help with joint pain, mobility and flexibility. Collagen is a great hack for endurance athletes, especially if your preferred exercise is tough on the joints—looking at you, endurance runners and powerlifters.

To make collagen, we take gelatin and use gentle enzymes to break it down a step further into hydrolyzed powder. That process allows the final product to easily dissolve in hot or cold liquids, which is great, but it also maintains the nutrition of the collagen and maximizes bioavailability—which means your body can actually absorb those essential amino acids and produce more collagen.

Yup. Bulletproof Collagen Peptides dissolves easily in hot and cold liquids. The only exception is Collagelatin. Just like those gelatin packets you can buy at the grocery store, Collagelatin dissolves in hot liquids and then gels when cool.

Our Unflavored Collagen Peptides doesn’t taste like anything. It’s also odorless, in case you were wondering. Once you add it to your favorite drinks and recipes, it’s virtually undetectable (but your body will appreciate it).

Homemade bone broth is tasty and savory, but it also takes hours to properly prepare. Collagen peptides contains the same amino acids as bone broth and it’s way easier to use. Unlike bone broth, collagen powder is flavorless and odorless so it is easy to add into your beverage of choice, hot or cold. Just scoop, stir and go.

Collagen is not a complete protein as it doesn't contain tryptophan, one of the nine essential amino acids. If you would like to enjoy the benefits of collagen protein with the added benefit of a complete protein, try our Collagen Protein Plus Support products. We add the amino acid, tryptophan for a complete protein powder.

It’s effective any time of day, whether you take it before or after a workout. Collagen promotes recovery because it’s the main protein your body recruits to help build everything from the connective tissue in skin to the tendons that attach muscles to bone.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of variability with collagen products. Some companies use fillers or artificial colors (we don’t). And although you can get the same amino acid benefits from collagen capsules, you want to investigate what the capsules are made of, how much collagen you get per serving and what the ingredients are.

Collagen peptides powder is simple—and there’s no need to carry around a fistful of collagen capsules. Bulletproof Collagen Peptides is 100% hydrolyzed collagen peptides and nothing else. Our collagen powder is sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised cows without added hormones. Plus, it's easy to use. Just add 1-2 scoops to whatever you’re drinking right now. Done.

Yes! Collagen adds a punch of protein and blends beautifully into Bulletproof Coffee.

Pretty much anything. Collagen is really easy to add to your favorite recipes because it’s heat-stable, which means you can add it to hot drinks or even bake with it. Start by mixing it into your morning coffee or tea. Whip up a batch of Double Chocolate Chip Keto Cookies. Prep some Easy Keto White Truffles.

Because we believe that you deserve the best product possible. Our collagen comes from pastured cows that spend most of their lives roaming outside and grazing exclusively on grass, as nature intended. That means no hormones, no GMOs, no antibiotics—and no traces of junk in your collagen.

Yes. Bulletproof Collagen Peptides contain zero carbs, so it won’t kick you out of ketosis.

Our collagen peptides powders contain no added sugar*. Our flavored collagen peptides powders contain ingredients we believe in, like raw cacao powder and erythritol—a sugar alcohol that won’t affect your blood sugar. Besides, we don’t need to add any sugar. The benefits of collagen are sweet enough on their own.

*Not a low-calorie food.

Collagen peptides, aka hydrolyzed collagen, are a form of collagen protein that has been broken down into smaller molecules through a process called hydrolysis. The resulting collagen peptides are easier to digest and mix into both cold and hot liquids compared to regular collagen protein.

Collagen powder is sourced from the connective tissues of animals. The most common sources of collagen protein include bovine (cow) collagen, marine collagen, chicken collagen and pork collagen.

Collagen protein can be used to create various products including powders, gummies and protein bars.

Hydrolyzed collagen is another term for collagen peptides.

Collagen supplements have potential to provide several health benefits such as supporting healthy hair, skin and nails. Collagen can also has a positive impact on our joint and bone health.

Collagen protein supplements typically contain collagen in its original protein form, which consists of longer chains of amino acids. The key differences between collagen protein supplements and collagen peptide supplements are the size of the molecules and the ease with which they are absorbed by the body. Collagen peptides are generally considered more readily absorbable and digestible, which can lead to faster and more efficient delivery of collagen's amino acids to the body's tissues.

Both forms of supplementation offer potential benefits for supporting skin health, joint function, and overall tissue integrity. However, due to their enhanced absorption, collagen peptide supplements are often favored by many individuals seeking these benefits.

MCT Oil

MCT oil aka Medium-Chain Triglyceride oil is a type of dietary fat composed of medium-chain fatty acids, which are shorter in length than the long-chain fatty acids commonly found in most dietary fats.

MCTs are metabolized differently compared to long-chain fatty acids, allowing the body to use fats as an energy source. Learn more about MCT oil here.

Our Brain Octane Softgels contain about 1/14th a tablespoon of Brain Octane C8 MCT Oil per capsule. They work to slow the digestion of Caprylic acid so it spends more time in your gut, balancing beneficial bacteria and helping maintain normal yeast levels.

Studies have shown that Caprylic fatty acids have gut biome balancing and potent microbial balancing effects that help to support healthy digestion and immune function.2

[2] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10005197/

Our Brain Octane and MCT Oil is sourced from 100% coconut–no palm oil. However, our bars utilize MCT oil powder which lists palm kernel oil as an alternate source because when coconuts are unavailable, sustainably sourced palm kernel oil is minimally utilized.

We are actively working to reformulate our powdered MCT to be in line with our oils because of the impact that improper palm farming practices have on the environment. Bulletproof, alongside our supplier, belong to the Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) which is dedicated to only purchasing sustainably produced palm kernel oil; calling for stronger regulations and enforcement in the industry.

Organic is great. But when it comes to MCT oils, you want purity and C8 for the greatest benefits. Bulletproof Brain Octane oil and MCT oil are purer than organic MCT oils. Here’s what that means.

In order to call an MCT oil organic, companies have to keep everything as it was in nature. During production, manufacturers keep the coconut oil intact and filter it down to try and isolate the MCTs.

The problem? C8 is a tiny fraction of coconut oil. Manufacturers can only filter out so much, and there’s a ceiling on the amount of C8 and C10 left in the final product. And because the oil is filtered and not distilled, there’s a chance organic MCT oil will still contain coconut residue, potential allergens and coconut flavor.

Bulletproof MCT oils are different—we fractionally distill and isolate C8 and C10 out of the coconut using water, pressure, and heat in a clean environment. We don’t use any solvents or chemicals, and we test the final product for purity and high potency.

The end result is a more effective MCT oil.

Brain Octane oil and MCT oil contain high-purity C8 and C10 without any of the residual coconut material, leftover coconut flavor or unwanted fatty acids that you might find in organic MCT oils.

We want to give you the best MCT oil possible. We’re willing to pass up on the organic sticker if it means we’re giving you a more potent product.

This is a little like comparing apples to oranges. Coconut oil and MCT oil are both awesome, but they have very different uses.

Coconut oil primarily contains an MCT called lauric acid (C12), which has some immune system benefits. Use coconut oil for baking and cooking up to 350°F.

Brain Octane and MCT oil are distilled to isolate C8 and C10, the most ketogenic MCTs. You’d have to eat a lot more coconut oil to get the same ketone energy as Bulletproof MCT oils.

Use Bulletproof MCT oils when you want to boost your ketones, supplement your diet with quality fats and upgrade your meals and beverages with fat-burning, brain-powering fuel.

If you haven’t used MCT oil before, you might experience stomach upset or diarrhea. Start with just a teaspoon (or even less) to give your body time to adjust.

Yes, you can cook with MCT oil in recipes up to 320°F. Here are some ideas:

  • Use it to make pesto, salad dressings and sauces
  • Blend it into hot and cold beverages like coffee and smoothies
  • Drizzle it over your favorite dishes as a finishing touch

Did you know? Oil accentuates fat-soluble flavors. Brain Octane oil and MCT oil give your meals an extra kick of fat-burning, brain-powering fuel.

You can use MCT oil outside the kitchen. Use it to moisturize your skin and hydrate your scalp and hair. Check out 10 ways to use Brain Octane oil.

Studies show that MCTs create ketones, which cause your body to burn fat and calories, regardless of your diet.

Yes. MCT oil taken at night won’t keep you awake. Instead, it’ll rapidly convert into ketones, which fuel your brain while you sleep.

Not at all. However, some people struggle to eat enough high-quality fats to stay in ketosis. Plus, C8 MCT oil—what you’ll find in Brain Octane oil—is a powerful way to efficiently boost your ketone levels and stay in ketosis.

No. The term “MCT oil” can refer to four different strains: C6, C8, C10, and C12. Brain Octane oil is C8 MCT oil, the most ketogenic part of coconut oil.

High-quality MCT oil is a powerful way to upgrade your brain. That’s because C8 MCT oil turns into ketones within minutes. Ketones quickly cross the blood-brain barrier and can be used as a fuel source for brain cells, giving you steady energy.

Brain Octane oil and MCT oil allow you to stay in ketosis and help curb cravings so you can fast longer.

MCT oil has several potential health benefits. It is easily absorbed making it a quick source of energy. Additionally, MCTs can help your body stay in ketosis if you are following a keto diet. Ketones can cross the blood brain barrier providing energy for the brain, too.

Some evidence suggests that MCT oil can support maintaining a healthy weight due to an increase a feeling of fullness.

The optimal dosage of MCT oil can vary depending on factors such as your individual health goals and tolerance. We recommend starting with a smaller dose (1 tsp) and gradually increasing to a full dose (1tbs) to assess how your body responds. Remember, MCT oil is calorie-dense and excessive consumption can contribute to excess calorie intake and weight gain.

MCT oil can be derived from coconut oil or palm oil. At Bulletproof, our MCT oil is always derived 100% from coconuts.

Mix-Ins

The source of the carbs in Instmix come from highly branched cyclic dextrin (HBCD) which is a designer carbohydrate that will make the grass fed butter, and Brain Octane C8 MCT Oil water soluble. HBCD has been shown in studies to not raise blood sugar values and the proposed mechanism is that it converts to muscle glycogen extremely efficiently (1.2x more efficient than liver glucose). This is why many athletes are using HBCD.

Unfortunately, due to dairy import restrictions and excessive tariffs, we are unable to ship our Grass-Fed Ghee into Canada at this time.

Ghee is clarified butter. It is made by simmering butter to remove water and milk solids, leaving behing a high-quality golden fat with a rich flavor and higher smoke point than butter. Ghee is lactose free and shelf stable. It contains fat-soluable vitamins A, E and K as well as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

Ghee has a longer shelf life compared to butter. If stored properly, it can last several months without refridgeration. Keep in an airtight container away from heat and direct sunlight. If you are in a warmer climate, you may prefer to keep ghee in the fridge.

Supplements

Glutathione Force is an antioxidant manufactured using the Bulletproof proprietary Activated Liposomal delivery system to increase the bioavailability of glutathione. This helps it better support optimal cellular function and protecting against oxidative stress.

Everyone's biology is different and our uniqueness makes us awesome. Unfortunately, that also makes a one-size fits all recommendation for our products difficult and we cannot make specific recommendations, nor anticipate how an individual's metabolism will respond to the use of supplement stacks.

Combining supplements can have vastly different responses among individual users. If you decide to try a new supplement, introduce them slowly to your protocol, using less than a full serving and increase slowly over time, to the recommended usage as per the directions on the label.

Please be responsible and if you have any health concerns consult with your licensed healthcare professional for further advice.

About Bulletproof

Diet

Cashews may be a 'nut' that the Bulletproof Diet heeds warning on, but as long as they are sourced/processed correctly, and if you do not have high sensitivity to them, they can actually be quite healthy - check out this awesome article on the nutritional benefits of cashews:

7 Nutritional Benefits of Cashews

Here is more information if you are feeling it.

Sensible nutrition ideas, taken to an extreme, can end up being nonsensical. You can't avoid lectin unless you avoid all plant and animal foods. Avoid the worst offenders (bread, for starters), and make sure your diet has a healthy diversity of plants, especially leafy greens. Part of the problem with lectin is not just lectin itself, but with the lack of diversity in our diet causing a drop in healthy gut cultures.

The Bulletproof Diet focuses on eliminating sugar and grains, fueling up with quality fats and choosing organic and grass-fed options, when possible. Learn more about the Bulletproof Diet here.

While the Bulletproof Diet has many similarities to other diets, we also emphasize the quality of ingredients, the sourcing of food and minimizing exposure to harmful additiives.

Testing

Each ingredient used in Bulletproof products are submitted to standardized quality assurance testing and must pass stringent standards for heavy metals and other toxins.
